This is a compilation of the best work clear sky has seen and maybe some thing ported from other mods. The Remaster Studio did not make any part of this mod.

Sadly, stability isn't exactly a hallmark of most modded STALKER titles. I'm quite anxious to try this updated Clear Sky. Using Unreal 4 for STALKER, to me, is like Crytek electing to use UE4 for a Crysis remake. I must confess that I was hoping that GSC would announce it was using a V2-version of X-Ray for it's new STALKER game. Finished a run through it not all that long ago at 1440p. I mean, it shows it's age surely enough, but I've always very much liked the look of the X-Ray engine. I never felt the game was wanting in terms of appearance. There are still a number of unusual events that could be corrected, such as the STALKER-faction trader at Agroprom deciding to drop dead for no apparent reason just when you need him most. (Eventually.) Even in it's final state, the game's a little touchy in terms of scripting, and the faction system is still marginal, at best. I was able to run in DX 10.1 on a HD 4870, and the AA actually worked. In terms of graphics, it did look pretty good compared to Shadow of Chernobyl.

The enemy AI on the other hand, threw like NFL quarterbacks, and could put a grenade at your feet at 70 meters.Īfter six or seven updates, the game settled down quite a bit. However, they threw like, if you'll pardon the expression, girls. Early on, the friendly AI were grenade-throwin' SOBs.

The AI was a little loopy, too, even for a STALKER game. Quite a bit of the main quest and the game's faction system wasn't entirely functional. When Clear Sky went RTM, I believe it was at V1.5.03 and it was a complete mess.
